Hannah Coleman — online IB and GCSE maths tutor

Hannah Coleman

Maths · Computer Science · Physics

Hannah didn't connect with maths at school, but found her way into it through physics, first as a mature student at the University of Nottingham where she earned a BSc, and then as a PhD researcher at UCL, developing machine learning algorithms for medical imaging. She now tutors IB and GCSE students at international schools around the world, specialising in making maths feel less intimidating and more intuitive.

Her academic research led her into programming and quantitative thinking more broadly. She moved into finance, taking on a full-time role as a Quantitative Risk Analyst, building Python-based analytics tools. She also holds a BA in Russian and Slavonic Studies, and spent a year living and working in Sarajevo. Before her research career, Hannah spent time as a science teaching assistant in a secondary school, running small-group sessions for students. She's also a published science communicator and has spent years explaining complex ideas at public events including the Royal Society Summer Science Festival, Cheltenham Science Festival, and New Scientist Live.

Hannah's teaching style is shaped by that non-linear journey. She understands what it feels like when maths doesn't click, and she's patient with the process of getting there. She focuses on building genuine understanding rather than memorising procedures, and she's good at finding the explanation that works for each student.

Hannah specialises in GCSE, A Level and IB Mathematics, Python programming fundamentals, and Physics foundations.

Cameron MacDonald — online IB English, Global Politics, and TOK tutor

Cameron MacDonald

English · Global Politics · Theatre · TOK

Cameron is an educator with more than 20 years of classroom experience across four countries. He's taught in Canada, the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom, bringing a genuinely global perspective to his work with students.

Most recently, Cameron spent over seven years at EIFA International School in London — a bilingual French/English school — where he was part of the team that established IB World School accreditation. He coordinated Theory of Knowledge across the school, taught IB Global Politics and Theatre, and guided students through Extended Essays in multiple subjects. The school drew families from across Europe and beyond, and Cameron's work was deeply shaped by that international, multicultural context. Before that, he spent eight years teaching English and Theatre Studies at St Monica's College in Melbourne.

Cameron's approach is pastoral and student-centred. He believes that academic success starts with feeling supported, and he has a talent for meeting students where they are and helping them find their voice — whether that's in an essay, a TOK presentation, or a Global Politics exam.

He is currently completing a Master of Education at St. Francis Xavier University, with a focus on Educational Administration and Policy.

Cameron specialises in IB English (Language & Literature / Literature), IB Global Politics, IB Theatre, Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay supervision and guidance, iGCSE Drama and English, and Cambridge Lower Secondary English.
